Batanes Province is located at the northernmost part of the Philippines. It is the smallest province in terms of population and land area. It is also known as "Home of the Winds". We have gone to three of its ten islands.

Upon arrival in Batanes, we were taken to this restaurant for lunch.

This is called "lunis", a traditional dish of preserved pork. It was crispy and yummy.

This is called vakul, a head gear that is worn by women as protection from rain and sun. It is made of vuyavuy, date palm leaves.
A stone house with cogon roof is called "sinadumparan".

We had to wait for a faluwa (boat) here to go to Sabtang, one of the inhabited islands of Batanes.

The places I have seen in Batanes have been litter free. Seeing a plastic bottle left in the beach is uncommon.
